Description

Sipro has an extensive experience in the world of jewelry machines and applied its numerical controls in a big number of diamond cutter machines operating from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 12 interpolated axes.

On the diamond cutter machines many of the typical features of a CNC machine are used, such for example the worktop change and the exchange of the axes involved in the interpolation group according to the processing. Moreover it is possible to take advantage of the big flexibility of Sipro’s numerical controls that suits well these complex and versatile machines.

On such machines with a high number of axes, great benefit is the use of digital fieldbuses (CAN-Open initially and Ethercat currently) both in terms of wiring savings than in terms of machine performances. Brushless motors of small dimensions are typically used, at 8000 rpm, with IP65 or higher protection, and in some cases motors with integrated drive.

The control usually used on a diamond cutter is the SIAX M8/T for internal panel interfaced with a consumer or industrial PC (CO15).
